Do you teach multiple grade levels and want to stretch the ✨Monday Method✨articles to get even more use out of them without students repeating them all over again if you have the same students again next year?

Here's A Creative, Student-Driven Solution⤵️

Next year, use the articles again as a jumping off point for student-driven biographical research projects where they have to research another person in a similar career field and draw comparisons between both people’s experiences (Ex: Article #21 features fashion designer Vera Wang. So next year, students could read that same article again just as a quick refresher and then they could choose to research another person in the fashion industry to compare life experiences, draw connections, etc.).

You could use one article a week next year, but this time, students could have the whole week to choose another person, and draw similarities or differences between the “old” person and the new person. They could journal about this comparison each Monday with different articles as an informal research assignment that they do every Monday, or you could choose to make it more formal if you wish and go from there. 

It’s fun to be creative and to think of ways to support students’ interests while embedding reading, writing, and research. Hope that helps, and maybe gets the wheels turning for other uses!
